This policy explains what personal data this website collects, why I collect it, how long I keep it and what you can ask me to do with it. It applies to this site only. I keep it short and plain on purpose; if anything is unclear, write to me.
Who I am
This site belongs to Noah Feld, an independent product and web designer based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. I am responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach me at hello@noahfeld.com.
What I collect
I only collect what I need to answer you and to run a small studio.
When you email me, I receive your name, your email address, your message and anything you choose to attach, such as a brief or a few screenshots.
When you book a call through my booking page, the booking service receives your name, your email address, the time you pick and the notes you add, and sends me a copy.
When you visit the site, privacy-friendly analytics count page views, the page you came from, your browser type and the country of the visit. They use no cookies and never tell me who you are.
There is no newsletter, no tracking pixel and no advertising on this site.
Why I use it
I use your details to reply to you, to plan a call, to prepare a proposal and, if we work together, to run the project and send invoices. The legal basis is the steps you ask for before a contract, the contract itself, and my legitimate interest in answering messages and keeping my records in order. The analytics help me see which pages are useful, without knowing who reads them.
Who else sees it
I never sell your data or share it for marketing. A few services help me run the site and my work, and they only process data on my behalf:
Framer, which hosts this website and provides its analytics.
My booking service, when you book a call.
My email provider, which stores our messages.
My accountant, only for invoices once we work together.
Some of these services may store data outside the European Union. When they do, they use the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Cookies and your browser
This site sets no tracking cookies. If you switch between the light and the dark theme, your browser remembers the choice for that visit only, in its session storage. It is never sent to me and disappears when you close the tab.
How long I keep it
Messages and booking details are kept for up to two years, so I can find our conversation if we work together later. If we do work together, project emails and invoices are kept for seven years, because Dutch tax law asks for it. Analytics are only kept as totals. You can ask me to delete your messages at any time.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask me to:
send you a copy of the data I hold about you;
correct it when it is wrong or out of date;
delete it, unless the law asks me to keep it;
limit how I use it, or stop using it for a reason you object to;
give it to you in a common file format, so you can take it elsewhere.
Write to hello@noahfeld.com and I will answer within 30 days. If you are not happy with my answer, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the authority in your own country.
Security
The site is served over a secure connection. I keep my accounts protected with strong passwords and two-step sign-in, and I only keep what I need.
Changes
If the way I handle data changes, I will update this page and the date at the top. The version on this page is always the current one.
